North Vancouver woman killed in Highway 97 collision near MacKenzie; BCHP ask for witnesses, video

BC Highway Patrol is looking for anyone who saw what occurred in the minutes leading up to the fatal collision that shut down Highway #97 near MacKenzie, BC, on Saturday.

Police were called on Saturday, August 16 at 1:45 p.m., when a black Dodge Ram 3500 pickup that was towing a flat deck trailer collided with a black Ford Bronco on Highway 97 at Bijoux Falls.

The driver and a passenger in the black Dodge Ram were taken to hospital along with the driver and one passenger in the Ford Bronco. A second passenger in the Ford Bronco, a 28-year-old woman from North Vancouver, did not survive.

“Police are very interested in how these vehicles were driving in the minutes leading up to the collision, and we’re looking for more witnesses who saw that black Ford Bronco or the black Dodge Ram towing a trailer,” says Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “If you have dash camera footage that’s also crucial.”
