THE Conservative Party of Surrey (Conservative Electors Association) on Thursday announced that Honveer Randhawa is their official candidate for mayor of Surrey.

“A respected community leader, experienced lawyer, and founder of the Randhawa Law Centre, Honveer Randhawa is committed to delivering real results for Surrey families. His campaign will focus on core priorities: safer streets, lower taxes, and putting families first,” said the party.

“Surrey deserves new leadership that puts families first,” said Randhawa. “Over the past few years, taxes have gone up, violent crime and extortion has spiraled out of control, road planning hasn’t kept up resulting in congestion getting worse, and drug den housing is being pushed into neighborhoods across our city. Currently life in Surrey has gotten worse, and people want common sense change at Surrey City Hall.”

He said he will establish a Surrey Home Protection Fund to compensate damages for verified Residential Tenancy Branch judgements which are deemed unrecoverable, and a parent-citizens committee to work with City of Surrey public library officials and Surrey School Board officials to review age-appropriate materials, strengthen transparency, and get SOGI materials out of Surrey classrooms.

He will instruct City staff to file a motion applying for intervenor status in the appeal of the British Columbia Supreme Court decision in Cowichan Tribes and others v. Canada (Attorney General), 2025 BCSC 1490. He will direct the City to focus its intervenor filing squarely on emphasizing to the courts the critical importance of protecting private property rights and the certainty of land titles for homeowners, businesses, and future generations.

His formal candidate launch event takes place in Surrey on Sunday, March 29 at 5:30 p.m. at Empress Banquet Hall at #201 8166 128 Street.
