THE New Westminster Police Department is appealing to the public for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in Queensborough.
On August 24 at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to Boyd Street near the ICBC lot after reports that a man had been attacked by two suspects. Officers located the victim, who had sustained a head injury and was bleeding. The victim said that he was struck, punched and kicked before the suspects stole his personal items. The suspects are not known to the victim.
Patrol officers were assisted by the Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service; however, no suspects could be located. The victim was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital where he received care for his injuries.
“Investigators are conducting an extensive canvass of the area for CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses,” said Communications Officer Hailey Finnigan. “We’re asking anyone who may have seen this incident or who has surveillance or dash cam footage from the area to please contact police.”
