Occupied vehicle shot at in Surrey’s Newton

SURREY RCMP are investigating a shooting in the Newton area and appealing for anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage to contact police.

On February 11 at approximately 8:20 p.m., RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 13400-block of 60A Avenue. Police located evidence consistent with a shooting and subsequently found a vehicle believed to be the target of the shooting in 13500-block of 62B Avenue with no driver inside.

Police said that initial indications are that the targeted vehicle was being driven while being shot at by a second vehicle, a light colored SUV which fled the area. No injuries have been reported, however, police are looking to confirm the well-being of the driver, and any occupants who may have been in the vehicle.
