SURREY RCMP were called to the 18300-block of Fraser Highway by BC Ambulance on Saturday (October 12) at 4:40 a.m. for a suspicious death. A 47-year-old man was in medical distress following an alleged assault. Despite life-saving measures being applied, the man died at the scene.

One man has been arrested in relation to the incident and remains in custody. Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit will be working with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) to continue the investigation.

Police believe the two men were known to each other and that there is no ongoing concern for public safety at this time. There is no indication that this incident is related to gang involvement.
