ONTARIO: Bhawanjeet Singh, 23, and Gurdeep Singh, 28, arrested in stolen vehicle investigation

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police officers from the 12 Division Community Incident Response Team (CIRT) located a stolen vehicle and laid numerous charges after arresting two men located in the vehicle.

On Wednesday, November 27 at approximately 8 a.m., officers were conducting a proactive patrol in the area of Goreway Drive and Brandon Gate Drive in the city of Mississauga. During the investigation, officers located an occupied stolen Lexus 350.

Officers were able to act quickly and stop the vehicle from fleeing, which resulted in police cruisers being damaged and two suspects fleeing on foot. After a short foot pursuit, police arrested both suspects and laid numerous charges related to drugs, stolen property, and weapon offences.

Bhawanjeet Singh, a 23-year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Gurdeep Singh a 28-year-old man of no fixed address, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Mischief over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Breach of release order

Both accused were held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
