ONTARIO: Jasgeen Singh and Sukhjinder Kular arrested in Brampton carjacking

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police have arrested and charged two men in relation to a carjacking investigation.

On Tuesday, June 8 at 10:36 a.m., the victims, a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman from Belleville, parked their vehicle at a gas station in the area of Steeles Avenue and Airport Road in Brampton. The male driver exited the driver’s seat leaving the vehicle running, with the female passenger remaining in the vehicle. At this time, the suspect entered the vehicle and assaulted the female passenger while driving away with her still inside the vehicle.

The suspect drove for a short distance before pulling over and forcing the female victim out of the vehicle. The suspect then picked up another suspect, attended numerous retail establishments, and used the victims’ bank cards.

No physical injuries were sustained.

Jasgeen Singh, a 22-year-old man from Brampton, is charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery
  • Possession, use, traffic credit card
  • Possession/traffic credit card data

Sukhjinder Kular, a 32-year-old from Brampton, is charged with the following offences:

  • Possession, use, traffic credit card
  • Possession/traffic credit card data
  • Breach probation

They were both held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on Wednesday, June 9.
