ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police in collaboration with the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police, Major Crime Unit, have laid charges in connection with two shooting incidents that occurred in Brampton and Caledon.
On October 26, at approximately 2:50 a.m., two suspects attended a residence near Old School Road and Creditview Road in Caledon in a silver BMW SUV. Surveillance footage showed one of the suspects pouring an accelerant on the driveway and igniting a fire. Both suspects then fired several rounds at the residence. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, it is alleged that the same suspects attended a business near Advance Boulevard and Dixie Road in Brampton. Surveillance footage showed a suspect firing several rounds toward the business from within the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
On November 7, investigators arrested Iqbal Bhagria, a 25-year-old male from Brampton. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and faces the following charges:
- Intentionally discharge a firearm recklessly (two counts)
- Arson
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Uttering a forged document
The investigation remains ongoing, and police continue efforts to identify and locate the second suspect involved in these incidents.
