ONTARIO: Seven South Asians arrested and charged with kidnapping in Mississauga

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have arrested seven individuals involved in a kidnapping incident in the City of Mississauga.

On Saturday, April 10 at approximately 4 p.m., police were contacted regarding an adult male kidnapped in Mississauga. A complex 14-hour investigation led to the victim being located on Sunday, April 11 at approximately 2 a.m., in the area of Airport Road and Morning Star Drive with severe but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

As a result, police have arrested and charged seven individuals for kidnapping, assault cause bodily harm, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon:

* Gurvinder Dhillon, 34, of Brampton

* Maninderjit Dhindsa, 42, of Brampton

* Harpal Dhillon, 36, of Brampton

* Lakhvir Singh, 23, of Mississauga

* Jaspuneet Bajwa, 29, of Mississauga

* Kalib Rahi, 34, of Brampton

* Ramanpreet Singh, 22, of no fixed address

All were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
