ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have arrested an individual in relation to two separate sexual assault investigations in Mississauga.
On Monday, May 12 at approximately 1:40 p.m., a woman in her thirties was walking near Churchill Meadows Boulevard and Quiet Creek Drive when she was approached by an unknown male. The suspect made a comment toward her before touching her buttocks and fleeing the area on foot.
On Saturday, May 17, at approximately 7:10 p.m., a second woman in her thirties was walking near Erin Centre Boulevard and Eaglesview Drive when the same suspect approached, made inappropriate comments, touched her buttocks, and fled the scene.
On Monday, May 26, police arrested and charged Syed Balehat Arsalan Rizvi, a 30-year-old-man from Mississauga, with the following offences:
- Sexual assault (two counts)
- Indecent act in a public space
Rizvi was held for bail hearing and appeared at Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
Investigators believe he may be linked to other incidents not yet reported to police and are asking anyone with information about this investigation to call 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133.
