Ontario’s Peel Regional Police arrest 5 South Asian suspects in stolen vehicle, recover firearm

ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators have arrested five South Asian suspects in a stolen vehicle and recovered a firearm.

On Wednesday, December 20, investigators were conducting proactive auto theft enforcement in the area of McVean Drive and Cottrelle Boulevard in Brampton when they identified and located a stolen vehicle. During the investigation, a loaded firearm was found.

Gurgit Dosanjh, a 37-year-old man from Brampton, and Jasvir Gill, a 37-year-old man from Quebec, were charged with knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.

Jagpal Singh, a 27-year-old man from Quebec, and Iqbal Virk, a 31-year-old man from Quebec, were charged with knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.

Sunil Masoun, a 44-year-old man from Toronto, was charged with knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and possession of property obtained by crime

All five men were held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
