ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged three men from Brampton in relation to an extortion investigation.
On April 30, police responded to a business which had been shot at in the area of Queen Street and Kennedy Road South in the City of Brampton. No individuals were inside the property during this incident, however, the victim began receiving messages from an unknown individual making demands for money.
On May 1, following a thorough investigation involving multiple teams, including surveillance, community incident response and tactical, three men from Brampton were identified and arrested for extortion: Harpal Singh, 34, Rajnoor Singh, 20 and Eknoor Singh, 22.
All three men were held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
“Our investigators are relentless, and we will use every tool available at our disposal to identify, arrest, and hold those who commit these offences accountable. No business owner should have to live in fear for doing honest work,” said Peel Regional Police Deputy Chief Marc Andrews.
