PANORAMA Ridge Secondary beat last year’s champions Sutherland 3-0 to claim the AAA provincial high school soccer crown.

The Thunder’s Kerman Pannu put all three goals past their North Vancouver rivals on his way to being named tournament MVP while, at the other end of the pitch, the shutout helped Jassdeep Lallie to the best goalkeeper award. Jassi Mann was named to the commissioner’s 16.

“The team had to battle through a difficult group, but we felt that those games are what prepared them for an extremely hard fought final,” says Thunder coach Darryl Vanderark.

There were strong performances from other Surrey schools in finals at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. Tamanawis, Earl Marriott and Sullivan Heights secondary schools finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively, and Queen Elizabeth Secondary came fourteenth.
