SURREY Police Service (SPS) announced on Tuesday that one of the passengers, a 23-year-old female, who suffered life-threatening injuries in a January 1 collision near the intersection of 32 Avenue and 194 Street has sadly passed away.
On January 1 at approximately 5:20 p.m., SPS received reports of a collision between a tractor trailer and two passenger vehicles near the intersection of 32 Avenue and 194 Street. SPS members attended the scene along with Surrey Fire Service and BCEHS.
Three occupants of the two passenger vehicles were transported to hospital, with two of the people initially described as being in critical condition. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Police said on Tuesday that the cause of the collision remains under investigation, but it is believed that impairment was a contributing factor. At this time no criminal charges have been laid.
