Paul Martin charged with second-degree murder of Robb Memory of Surrey

THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced on Friday that 42-year-old Paul Martin of Surrey has been charged in relation to the August 24 murder of 56-year-old Robb Memory in Surrey.

On Sunday, August 27 at 11:47 a.m., Surrey RCMP attended a suspicious death occurrence in the 19100-block of 68 Avenue. Police located Memory who had injuries consistent with a homicide. A suspect, Martin, was identified on scene and taken into custody.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the investigation and has been working closely in partnership with Surrey RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the RCMP Integrated Forensic Identification Section to advance the investigation.

On September 1, a charge of second-degree murder was laid against Martin, who remains in police custody.

“Robb was a caring and generous person. The family appreciates the hard work and dedication of IHIT,” said Robb’s father, Cecil Memory.

“Anyone affected by this is encouraged to contact the Surrey RCMP’s victim services,” said IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.
