ON Sunday, January 11, at approximately 1:45 p.m., a witness called 9-1-1 to ask for police after a pedestrian was struck by a driver in a Queensborough parking lot in the 1000-block of Tanaka Court.

Responding officers observed a woman had sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Officers provided immediate first aid before the woman was transported to hospital for treatment. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. Officers are appealing to the public for additional dash cam footage and witness statements in order to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“This was a busy parking lot and we believe there may be people who saw what happened who have not spoken to police, so we’re asking anyone with information or video to please contact us,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver.
