Pedestrian-involved collision in Abbotsford

ON Thursday at 4:48 p.m., Abbotsford Police patrol officers, responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 33000-block of South Fraser Way. Emergency service workers located a 24-year-old female who had been struck by a vehicle.

The female was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 39-year-old driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police are in the early stages of this investigation, but say that speed and impairment are not factors in the collision.

“Investigators are looking to determine where the pedestrian was at the time of the collision,” said Constable Art Stele, Abbotsford Police Media Relations Officer.

Investigators are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage from those who may have been driving on South Fraser Way between McCallum Road and Roberts Avenue around the time of the collision. If you can assist, you are requested to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
