Pedestrian-involved motor vehicle collision in Surrey

SURREY RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in a pedestrian-involved motor vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday at approximately 5:32 p.m. in the 16800-block of 64 Avenue.

A Toyota Corolla was travelling westbound on 64 Avenue passing 168 Street, when it struck a pedestrian crossing 64 Avenue. The collision resulted in the pedestrian suffering life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old male pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital. The driver of the Toyota Corolla remained at scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

Police said alcohol and speed have been ruled out as contributing factors in this collision. The incident is still under investigation.
