VANCOUVER Police on Thursday said that just before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to multiple 911 calls of shots being fired near East 64th Avenue and Knight Street. One victim was found dead in front of a house in the area.
The incident is being investigated by VPD’s Major Crime Section. Investigators do not believe there is any risk to the public.
Witnesses told the media that they heard loud gunfire. One witness said that a person had been shot dead.
Later a vehicle was found on fire in Richmond, but it’s not clear if that is connected to the Vancouver homicide.
This is Vancouver’s 14th homicide of the year.
