A 52-year-old Pitt Meadows man is dead, and BC Highway Patrol is looking for the public’s help with dash-camera video and witnesses to determine the exact circumstances of the single-vehicle crash on Highway 99.
Police were called on Friday, October 10 shortly after noon, when a white, Dodge Ram flat deck truck went off-road right on Highway 99 northbound just after the Steveston onramp. The resulting highway shutdown caused major delays for several hours.
“The evidence collected so far is that the deceased driver was alone in the white Dodge Ram flat deck. We have not identified any other vehicles or people involved,” says Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol. “Speaking to more witnesses and gathering dash-camera video will be key to figuring out the exact cause of this crash.”
If you saw anything in the moments leading up to the fatal crash on Highway 99, or you have dash-camera video, you are requested to call BC Highway Patrol – Burnaby at 604-526-9744 and quote file (1004) 2025-1855.
