AT 9:36 a.m. on January 28, Coquitlam RCMP responded to a possible threat to a school in the 500-block of Poirier Street in Coquitlam. Prior to police attending, the school was placed in lockdown. Coquitlam RCMP officers attended and cleared the school.

Based on the initial investigation, it was determined there was no active threat. Officers remained on scene for the active and ongoing investigation.  The lockdown at the school was lifted.

Out of an abundance of caution, additional schools in the area were placed in hold and secure for a time.
