Road closures in effect on 156 Street and Fraser Highway in Surrey following collision

SURREY RCMP say there are road closures in the Guildford area, following a pedestrian-involved collision.

On Thursday at 1:27 p.m., a collision involving a pedestrian and a single vehicle occurred near the intersection of 156 Street and Fraser Highway. The pedestrian was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. The pedestrian was taken to hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene of the collision.

Road closures are in effect in the eastbound lanes of Fraser Highway at 156 Street. The Surrey RCMP Traffic Unit is investigating and it is anticipated that the road closure will be in effect for several hours. Police are asking public to avoid the area.

  1. Will never forget several years ago at same spot, a jeep driver lost control and went straight into the bus stop bench, killing the person sitting on it. The bus stop was marked off for this accident too.
