A Vancouver-based band is raising funds to help single-parent families living in poverty.
Mausiki is an up-and-coming indie music project with a unique sound and diverse fan base. They have been playing shows around Vancouver for the past year and recently started working with Rednyne Productions.
The cosmic rock group, who describe their sound as “tropical grunge with the fundamentals of rock n’roll,” decided that they wanted to lend their success to a good cause. The group is currently raising money to play a charity concert for Give The Needy – an organization that provides grants to South Asian families in need.
Mausiki comprises Ashar Kazi: lead vocals and guitar; Luke Kuzyk: steel drums, synth, and guitar; Patrick Sharp: drums; and Jeremy Gatten: bass, keys and vocals.
Mausiki’s Indiegogo campaign has managed to raise just over $2,000 in its first week. Learn more about the band and donate to their campaign at igg.me/at/mausikimusic
You can also check them out live on May 1 at Joe’s Apartment on 919 Granville Street in Vancouver.
