Sam Jafroudi found guilty in April 2019 New Westminster homicide

ON April 27, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the New Westminster Police Department was called to the 600-block of East Columbia Street for a report of shots fired. Police found an adult victim from apparent gunshot wounds.

New Westminster Police officers were able to locate the suspect a short distance away and take him into custody without incident.

The NWPD on Thursday informed the media that on December 13, 2021, the accused, Sam Jafroudi, was found guilty of second-degree murder. He remains in custody for his next court appearance on January 6, when a sentencing date will be scheduled.

“Members of the NWPD and IHIT [Integrated Homicide Investigation Team] worked together to ensure Crown Counsel had the necessary information to obtain a conviction in this trial,” said NWPD Chief Constable Dave Jansen. “I am hopeful that the victim’s family can find some closure now that Mr. Jafroudi has been found guilty.”
