Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP investigates assault at Whistler Mountain Bike Park

ON June 28, the Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP was made aware of an assault that was reported to have occurred in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. The initial information received was that on June 27 three youths were confronted by a fourth adult male while biking in the park. The incident was captured on a helmet camera, and the subsequent posting of this video on social media brought a significant amount of public interest to the incident.

“Our RCMP investigators are continuing to gather the facts of what occurred,” said Cpl. Katrina Boehmer, Media Relations Officer with Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP.  “We know that this type of behavior is not tolerated by our Whistler Blackcomb partners, and we will continue to support them in ensuring the safety and well-being of all users of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.”

One male was arrested and released on conditions and with a date to appear in court, however, the investigation is continuing. The Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the event and has not yet spoken with investigators.  Anyone who has any information to provide can contact the Sea to Sky RCMP Whistler Detachment at (604) 932‑3044.
