THE suspect in a December 2025 shooting that left a victim hospitalized, Ronin Tajali, has turned himself into authorities.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, Burnaby RCMP received a report that someone was shot near Phillips Avenue and Woodbrook Place, in North Burnaby. When frontline officers arrived, they located a man with gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital and received medical care.

Burnaby RCMP’s Investigative Support Team (IST) assumed conduct. On December 25, 2025, charges were laid and an arrest warrant was issued for the accused, then 18-year-old Ronin Tajali. He currently remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the public, the media and all law enforcement agencies that assisted in the investigation,” said Cpl Mike Kalanj with Burnaby RCMP.

The file is now before the courts.
