Shots fired at Surrey residence in 17000-block of 32 Avenue (update)

SURREY Police Service (SPS) and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) say that at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, RCMP SPOSU officers responded to calls of possible shots fired at a residence located in the 17000-block of 32 Avenue. SPOSU officers confirmed that damage to the exterior of the residence had been caused by gunshots.

RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU) has taken conduct of the investigation. The investigation is in its early stages and investigators will be continuing to gather evidence related to the shots fired, including liaising with police partners to determine if there are any links to other files.

Well-known journalist Gurpreet Singh Sahota says that the mansion of a Punjabi businessman is under construction. He adds: “One Punjabi man was injured in the incident — a bullet struck him near his nose and cheek, a detail that has not been released. Fortunately, he survived what could have been a fatal attack.”
