Shots fired at vehicle in Surrey’s Newton area

SURREY RCMP are investigating shots fired at a vehicle in Newton last weekend.

On Saturday, August 17 at approximately 7:15 p.m., police responded to a report of shots fired into a vehicle when it was stopped at the intersection of 122A Street and 67A Avenue.

The preliminary investigation indicates a white SUV was travelling southbound on 124 Street when it was allegedly followed by the suspect vehicle, described as a silver Toyota Corolla, prior to the shooting.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Section has conduct of this investigation and has been in the area speaking with witnesses and canvassing for CCTV.

“Thankfully no one was injured during this act of violence,” said Sgt. Tammy Lobb, Media Relations Officer with Surrey RCMP, on Tuesday. “Anyone who has information regarding this incident or may have dash camera footage is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-122045”.
