Shots fired into Abbotsford residence in targeted incident

ABBOTSFORD Police responded to a single report of possible shots fired heard in the area of Sugarpine Street at approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, April 22. Officers patrolled the area and found no evidence of a shooting at the time.

However, officers determined later in the day that shots had been fired into the basement suite of a residence in the 2500-block of Sugarpine Street. Police believe this to be a targeted shooting. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Abbotsford Police’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is in the early stages of canvassing for witnesses and collecting CCTV.

Investigators have no further information to release at this time.
