ON three separate occasions in December, the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) officers have responded to shots fired into the same residence located in the 11000-block of 140A Street of Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood:
- On December 7 at approximately 8:21 a.m.
- On December 27 at approximately 7:45 a.m.
- On December 28 at approximately 3:05 a.m.
Investigators believe these incidents are targeted to a resident of the home and do not believe they are linked to any extortions or the BC Gang Conflict.
In each instance, RCMP SPOSU frontline members responded to reports of shots fired from a vehicle, with bullets striking various parts of the residence. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to residents or neighbours. No arrests have been made at this time. RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU) has taken conduct of the investigation.
In the December 7 incident, Surrey Police Service (SPS) officers responded to a request from Surrey Fire Service to assist with a vehicle fire in the 10200-block of 125 Street. A few minutes later, SPOSU officers responded to calls of possible shots fired outside a residence located in the 11000-block of 140A Street. Approximately 30 minutes later, SPS officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Regal Drive near Regent Place. No one was injured in any of the incidents, and police said at the time that all appeared connected.
Police are asking residents in the area to remain mindful of any suspicious activities and vehicles. Anyone with information and who has yet to speak with police, or anyone who has home surveillance or dash camera footage from dates and times listed above are asked to call Surrey Police Service’s non-emergency number at 604-599-0502, as they may have captured images that could assist the investigators.
