Sikh activist Moninder Singh warned of threat to his life

VANCOUVER Police have warned Moninder Singh, who heads the Sikh Federation of Canada, of a threat to his life.

Moninder Singh told a news outlet that a Vancouver Police officer informed him of the threat and was told that his wife and children were also deemed to be at risk.

Moninder Singh, who lives in Surrey, has been receiving threats to his life since 2022.

Vancouver Police Constable Megan Lui told The VOICE in an email: “From time to time, the VPD conducts what is called a “Duty to Warn” when we receive information regarding a threat to someone. The information can come from a variety of investigative avenues. Given the sensitive nature, we don’t discuss the topic beyond the people involved.”
