SIKHS for Justice are reporting that Satinder Pal Singh Raju, a close associate of slain Khalistan advocate Hardeep Singh Nijjar of Surrey and an active organizer of Khalistan referendums, survived an ambush when the truck he was travelling in was sprayed with bullets on Interstate 505 near San Francisco on August 11.
After Nijjar’s assassination on June 18, 2023, in Surrey reportedly by Indian nationals who were arrested and charged by the RCMP, Raju along with the Sikhs For Justice team camped in Surrey from July to October to organize the Khalistan Referendum Phase I and II dedicated to Nijjar, according to a press release by Sikhs for Justice.
Recently, Raju was with the Sikhs For Justice team in Calgary to organize the July 28 Khalistan referendum voting in Calgary, Alberta. Earlier, in January and March, Raju played an active part in organizing the Khalistan referendum voting in San Francisco and Sacramento, California, said Sikhs for Justice.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, General Counsel to Sikhs For Justice, accused the Indian government of “continuing with its policy of transnational repression to violently suppress the global Khalistan Referendum campaign seeking liberation of Punjab from Indian occupation”. He added: “India’s unabated transnational violence cannot stop the voting process started by the Referendum campaigners”.
“After the drive by shooting in Brampton, Canada at the house of Inderjeet Singh Gosal, the Canadian Organizer of Khalistan Referendum, Sunday [August 11] night assassination attempt against Raju is the most recent violent attack against Khalistan Referendum campaigner in North America,” Sikhs For Justice said.
