JUST after 2 p.m. on Saturday (October 7), a man surrendered to Vancouver Police Department officers, bringing a peaceful ending to an eight-hour negotiation‎.
At approximately 6 a.m., officers were called to the area of Comox Street and Chilco Street regarding a man in a crisis.
While in his state of distress, the man had thrown items from his apartment window, causing minor damage to parked vehicles below.
Officers quickly located the man, and he was safely contained in his apartment while VPD negotiators spoke with him.
No one was injured during the incident and criminal charges for mischief will be recommended.
