SUNNY Bal is making waves in the Canadian mortgage industry.
He has been selected as one of Canada’s Rising Star of Mortgage by Canadian Mortgage Professional (CMP) at the young age of 23.
Sunny is a mortgage broker with top mortgage broker Sharnjit S Gill under VERICO Superior Mortgage Inc. in Surrey.
The CMP – Canada’s Rising Star of Mortgage 2021 is awarded to those who have displayed success in the mortgage industry and are the future leaders of the mortgage industry. Only three individuals under the age of 25 were selected for this award this year and Sunny is one of them.
Altogether, CMP selected 63 Rising Stars up to the age of 35 from across Canada – nine of them from B.C.
As the CMP states: “Starting out in the mortgage industry can be daunting for young professionals at the best of times. While potentially hugely rewarding, the industry can also be intense and demanding, with an often-heavy work-load and a plethora of complex concepts to grasp within a short period of time. Those finding their feet in the industry right now have also had to overcome the hurdle of COVID-19, which has upended the conventional workplace and introduced a host of new difficulties into the mortgage space.”
It adds: “Against that backdrop, the young professionals who made CMP’s annual Rising Stars list went above and beyond, adapting to the changing landscape and serving as a knowledgeable source of advice for their clients. Indeed, among this year’s cadre of Rising Stars, the ability to provide detailed counsel to customers was commonly listed as one of the most important skills a young mortgage professional must have.”
Sunny was born in Canada and at the young age of 15, he started working with Sharnjit Singh Gill in 2014. At that time, he was a high school student. Right from the start, he developed a habit of working diligently and taking full responsibility.
Once Sunny turned 19, he became a Licensed Mortgage Broker. He has a diverse amount of knowledge and experience in very different types of mortgages. He is an expert in Residential, Commercial, Construction, Private and Agricultural Mortgages. While working in the mortgage industry over the years, he also completed his Bachelors of Business at Simon Fraser University.
Sunny’s father, Major Singh Bal, from Khabba Rajputan village in Punjab’s Amritsar district, came to Canada in 1994. His mother, Sukhchain Kaur Bal, came here in 1996. Both of them worked hard to raise their three children — Sunny and daughters, Tarnjit and Ravneet — and provide them the best of education. The younger daughter is completing law school in England.
