Surrey house fire sends occupant to hospital with life-threatening injuries

SURREY Police Service (SPS) and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) are investigating a house fire in the Cloverdale neighbourhood.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., members of SPOSU attended the 16900-block of Jersey Drive regarding a house fire. A single occupant of the residence has been transported to an area hospital by helicopter with life-threatening injuries. It is early in the investigation and police are still attempting to determine the cause of the fire.

RCMP SPOSU General Investigation Unit (GIU) is assuming conduct of the investigation.
