Surrey man arrested in Richmond pedestrian hit-and-run

RICHMOND RCMP on Saturday asked for public assistance for dash cam footage or information of a pedestrian hit-and-run.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, frontline Richmond RCMP officers responded to the intersection of Garden City Road and Westminster Highway following reports of a pedestrian struck.

The pedestrian, a woman from Richmond, was struck by a dark colored sedan while crossing the roadway. She was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The offending vehicle fled the scene but was located near Highway 99 and Blundell Road by police with help from a sharp-eyed motorist.

The operator of the vehicle, a 25-year-old man from Surrey, was arrested. The investigation is active and on-going.
