Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke continues sabotaging Surrey Police Service as Premier looks on helplessly

Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke (right) with Surrey RCMP Assistant Commissioner Brian Edwards: Shameful sabotaging of Surrey Police Service.

PREMIER David Eby and Public Safety Minister and Solicitor General Mike Farnworth need to stop looking on helplessly as Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke keeps going out of the way to brazenly sabotage Surrey Police Service.

The VOICE learned on Thursday morning that she has now refused to pay the salaries of the 10 new SPS recruits at the Justice Institute of British Columbia — all, of course, at the command of the desperate RCMP that wants to cling on to Surrey.

Former solicitor general Kash Heed told The VOICE: “You have to question her power of reasoning, character and credibility as a mayor.”

Heed, a former police chief who is currently a Richmond city councillor, added: “She continually misleads her constituents and does not do what is in their best interest.”

Some want the Province to use the notwithstanding clause to force Surrey to carry on with the municipal transition even if any court tries to stop it.

The question now is: ‘Do Eby and Farnworth have what it takes to be bold, decisive leaders?’

The lives of so many officers and their families have been badly shaken up by the uncertainty introduced by Locke’s despicable pettiness and the NDP government’s totally incompetent handling of the situation.

This MUST stop NOW!
