SURREY Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday outside a business in the Newton neighbourhood of Surrey.
On October 19 at approximately 12:55 a.m., police received reports of shots fired in the area of King George Boulevard and 81 Avenue.
SPS members located a business that was damaged by what appeared to be gunshots. Investigation revealed the suspect shot at the victims, who were inside a vehicle in front of the business. The suspects and victims then fled the area in their vehicles.
SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) members attended the scene and are taking conduct of the investigation. Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) attended the scene to assist with gathering evidence.
While the motive for the incident is still under investigation, there are no established ties to any extortion investigations.
The suspect vehicle is described as a white, newer model 4-door sedan.
