SURREY RCMP are investigating a robbery that occurred at a bank and requesting the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect.
On March 1 at 3:58 p.m., Surrey RCMP received a report of a robbery inside a financial institution in the 8800-block of 152 Street. The suspect, who was waiting in line to see a teller, shoved a customer and grabbed an envelope full of cash from the teller. The suspect male fled the scene on a yellow bike prior to police arrival.
Police arrived within minutes, searched the area, and located the yellow getaway bike abandoned nearby. The Integrated Police Dog Service was deployed; however, the suspect was not located. The teller and the customer were shaken up by the incident. However, they were not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a white man, approximately 30 years old with a medium build. At the time of the robbery he was wearing dark jeans, a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, a blue medical mask, a black hat with a yellow-and-navy-blue circular logo, black shoes with white soles and black gloves.
