Surrey RCMP investigating fatal fire in Whalley

SURREY RCMP are investigating a fatal fire which occurred in the early morning hours of Thursday in Whalley.

At approximately 4:20 a.m. on July 23, Surrey RCMP were called to assist Surrey Fire Service in response to a residential fire at 10640 125B Street. Emergency crews found the residence fully engulfed, and located two deceased people inside.

The cause of the fire and cause of death of the two individuals has not been determined and are under investigation by the RCMP and fire officials. The BC Coroners Service is also conducting a fact-finding investigation to determine cause of death.  

Due to the privacy of the deceased, neither the RCMP nor the Coroners Service will be releasing or confirming the identity of the victims.
