SURREY RCMP are looking for the owner of coin sets seized during a 2018 investigation.
In December 2018, Surrey RCMP located a coin collection in a vehicle during a criminal investigation. The occupants of the vehicle did not claim ownership of the coins, leading police to believe they were stolen. Police were unable to locate any reports of lost or stolen coins matching the description of the collection.
“Although this coin collection may not have significant monetary value, it may hold sentimental value to its rightful owner,” notes Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Vanessa Munn. “Looking at the collection it is apparent that someone invested time into organizing and cataloging the coins.”
If you had a coin collection stolen prior to December 19, 2018, and you believe these coins could be yours, contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502. Claimants will be required to provide an accurate description of the collection to prove ownership.
