Surrey teen with replica firearm arrested in downtown Vancouver

A 13-year-old has been arrested by Vancouver Police for allegedly stealing a $1,200 jacket from a high-end luxury store downtown with a replica firearm strapped to his leg. 

VPD officers responded around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday to reports that security had a suspect pinned to the ground with a gun strapped to his leg outside the store, located near Granville and Dunsmuir. Police arrived on scene, arrested the teen, and secured the replica firearm.

The 13-year-old, a Surrey resident, has been released into the custody of a parent. The investigation is ongoing.
