Surrey’s Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib to hold nagar kirtan on Gurpurab

SURREY’S Gurdwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib announced this week that it is holding a nagar kirtan (parade) on November 20 in honour of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birthday (Gurpurab).

The gurdwara president, Narinder Singh, said this will be the first nagar kirtan in Canada after a gap of two years. It will start from the gurdwara.

The gurdwara society thanked the community for their overwhelming support in making this decision.
Gurpurab celebration starts on November 19, the day of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Birthday.

Surrey RCMP told the VOICE they are aware of this event and are working with community leaders to ensure the event is compliant with any current safety requirements.
