RICHMOND RCMP say they have arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged break-and-enter.
On November 16 shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a reported break-and-enter in progress at the 13900-block of Maycrest Way. According to the complainant, the business’ security alarm had been triggered, and a live video feed confirmed that someone was attempting to gain entry.
Frontline officers observed a truck backed into the storefront in what appeared to be an attempt to break in. Officers quickly set up containment around the premises and located the suspect, who was subsequently taken into custody.
The suspect, identified as Joey Antoine Maillet, has been charged with multiple offences, including break-and-enter with intent, theft of motor vehicle, and mischief under $5,000 (three counts).
Maillet is in custody pending a bail hearing, currently set for November 22.
“Our frontline officers acted quickly and decisively to secure the scene and apprehend the suspect,” said Inspector Mike Roberts, Richmond RCMP Frontline Operations. “We leverage every tool available—from real-time surveillance to coordinated response tactics—to deter crime in our community and ensure that those who attempt it are held accountable.”
