Suspect charged in August 29 Downtown Eastside homicide

A Vancouver Police investigation has led to the arrest and charge of a suspect in the August 29 murder of a man in the Downtown Eastside.

BC Prosecution Service has charged Felix Emond Moro, 28, with one count of first-degree murder in the shooting death of 43-year-old Terry Bachtis.

VPD officers responded to East Cordova and Carrall streets just before 3:30 a.m. on August 29 after Bachtis was shot.  Despite attempts by first responders to save his life, the victim died before he could be taken to hospital.

Vancouver Police arrested the suspect on Wednesday night in the Downtown Eastside, following an investigation by the VPD Homicide Unit.

Emond Moro remains in custody.
