THE Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Monday confirmed that a third person had been charged in connection with the homicide of Bhavkiran Dhesi, 19, whose body was found inside a burnt vehicle at around 12:20 a.m. on August 2, 2017, in the 18700-block of 24th Avenue in Surrey.

IHIT said that on Friday, May 24, 23-year-old Inderdeep Deo was arrested by its investigators and charged by the B.C. Prosecution Service for accessory after the fact to murder.

“So far three members of the same family have been charged criminally in relation to Bhavkiran’s murder,” said IHIT Cpl. Frank Jang.  “In spite of the recent charges laid in the case, the investigation remains active and we still urge those with information to come forward.”

On May 21, IHIT had announced that Manjit Kaur Deo, 53, the mother of 21-year-old Harjot Singh who had been charged with second-degree murder in Dhesi’s homicide had been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder in the case.

Harjot Deo was arrested on May 10 at Vancouver International Airport by IHIT.
