ONTARIO’S Peel Regional Police Homicide Bureau investigators have made arrests in British Columbia in a recent homicide that occurred in Mississauga.
On Wednesday, May 14 at approximately 11:49 a.m., Harjeet Dhadda, a 51-year-old businessman from Brampton, was approached by a suspect and shot multiple times while in a parking lot near Tranmere Drive and Telford Way in Mississauga. The victim later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The suspects fled in a stolen 2018 Black Dodge Challenger, which was recovered shortly following the incident.
After an intensive investigation, two suspects were identified and tracked to Delta, B.C. On May 28, Peel Regional Police, with assistance from officers with the Delta Police Department, Abbotsford Police, Surrey Police and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, located and arrested Aman Aman and Digvijay Digvijay, 21-year-old men from Delta, B.C.
Delta Police said in a press release that the residence and the two suspects were not known to them.
The accused appeared before a Justice in Surrey, B.C., before being turned over to homicide detectives to be transported back to Ontario, assisted by the British Columbia Sheriff Service to face charges of first-degree murder.
Both accused attended a bail hearing June 1, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
“This arrest is a testament to the unwavering perseverance and diligence of our homicide investigators. The strong collaboration with policing partners allows this family to take the next step toward justice for the loss of their loved one. Despite the suspects’ efforts to evade capture, our teams remained focused and relentless. This outcome sends a clear message — no matter how far you run, our teams will find you,” said Peel Regional Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah.

LAST month, The Times of India reported that the Lawrence Bishnoi group had claimed responsibility for the murder. It said: “Rohit Godara, an associate of Bishnoi, stated that Dhadda was killed for allegedly assisting Khalistan Tiger Force chief Arsh Dalla with bail. Godara, a wanted man by Interpol, accused Dhadda of supporting their enemies despite prior warnings.”
And Dhadda’s daughter had lashed out at the police and the authorities in a statement: “My name is Gurlin Dhadda. I am Harjeet Singh Dhadda’s daughter and I want justice for my father. I want justice for every family that feels abandoned by a broken system. I’m here today to speak about a tragedy that has shattered my family and shaken our entire community. “Yesterday, my father Harjeet Singh Dhadda was shot and killed in cold blood. He was a devoted father, respected businessman, and a proud Canadian resident since 1997. For more than 25 years, he worked hard to build a life here. He ran his own business, was a successful insurance broker and contributed positively to this country. He didn’t deserve to die.
“For the past few years, my father was receiving repeated threat and extortion calls. In April 2023, we even faced a possible attack. We reported these threats to the police. We begged for protection. But our cries for help went unanswered. The system that was supposed to keep us safe, failed him.
“Despite clear signs of danger, no security was provided by police. No meaningful action was taken. And now an innocent man is gone.
“Our community is grieving, but we are also outraged. We ask: What is the government doing about rising extortion and targeted violence. Why are innocent people left defenceless while the threats grow louder? When the authorities fail to protect us, what options do we have?”
She concluded: “To the community: Today, it was our father. Tomorrow, it could be yours. Stand with us. Speak out. Demand justice.”
