Vancouver Liberals welcome Park Board Commissioner Scott Jensen to party

THE Vancouver Liberal Electors Association announced on Friday that Scott Jensen, who currently serves as a Vancouver Park Board Commissioner, has joined the Vancouver Liberals.

Jensen was the Park Board’s first Indigenous Chair, and will also be the first sitting Liberal municipal official in the City of Vancouver in 90 years. Jensen also intends to seek a Vancouver Liberal nomination for Vancouver’s Park Board in the 2026 civic election.

Jensen is a longtime Vancouver resident, teacher, and community leader. He has demonstrated his commitment to an independent, elected Park Board, including during Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim’s efforts to abolish the Park Board.

“I’m proud to be joining the Vancouver Liberals — they are the progressive party for Vancouver,” said Jensen. “Ken Sim is the biggest enemy of our parks, and Kareem Allam is our biggest champion, and he is going to defend our parks.”

“He understands what’s at stake for our city, and he’s fought for it every step of the way with unparallelled passion and integrity.” said Kareem Allam, Vancouver Liberals’ candidate for Mayor of Vancouver. “We’re thrilled to have him on our team as we build momentum toward 2026.”
