THE transfer of command from outgoing Vancouver Police Chief Constable, Jim Chu, to the new Chief Constable, Adam Palmer, took place on Monday at a dignified ceremony at Vancouver Convention Centre attended by, among others, Lieutenant Governor Judith Guichon and Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson.

Chu bid goodbye to members of the VPD while Palmer officially greeted his officers as the VPD’s 31st Chief Constable in the 129-year history of the department as he took command of more than 1,700 sworn and civilian members.
