Vancouver selected to host 2025 Invictus Games in partnership with Whistler

VANCOUVER Mayor Kennedy Stewart said on Friday that he was so proud that Vancouver had been selected to once again welcome the world by hosting the Invictus Games 2025 in partnership with Whistler.

Stewart added: “The first ever winter edition of the Invictus Games could not have taken place anywhere else. The legacies of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games will provide the Invictus Games Foundation the perfect stage for this monumental event.”

He said: “I’m especially proud that the Invictus Games 2025 bid was submitted with the local Host Nations – the Lil’wat, Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations in true partnership and commitment to reconciliation.

“We have and will continue to work closely with local host nations to ensure the Games respond to Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, and ensure Indigenous protocols are respected in all aspects of the Invictus Games 2025.

“Our world class destination, infrastructure and venues are second to none; and we will ensure the veteran competitors, their family and friends and the Invictus Games team experience all Vancouver has to offer creating a memory that will last a lifetime.

“Congratulations to all the bid partners and we look forward to beginning the celebration now in the lead up to 2025.”
